Getting Started & Registration

What documents are required to register a Sender ID?
To approve a custom Sender ID, you must provide your Business Registration (BR) certificate, a copy of the owner’s NIC, and a signed No Objection Certificate (NOC) letter. If you do not have a BR, please contact our support team to discuss alternative options.
How long does the Sender ID approval process take?
Standard approval typically takes 1–3 business days, depending on the network operators (Dialog, Mobitel, etc.). We aim for fast approval to help you launch your campaigns as quickly as possible.
Is there a setup fee for the SMS Gateway?
For our "Pay As You GO" plan, there is a one-time setup fee of LKR 2,500.00. This covers the configuration of your account and the integration of your initial Sender IDs.

Messaging & Technology

What is the character limit for a single SMS?
English (GSM-7): 160 characters per SMS.
Unicode (Sinhala/Tamil): 70 characters per SMS.

Note: If your message exceeds these limits, it will be sent as a multi-part (concatenated) SMS, and you will be charged per 1-SMS unit used.
Does HashNET support Unicode for Sinhala and Tamil messages?
Yes, our gateway fully supports Unicode. You can send messages in any language, ensuring you can communicate effectively with all local audiences in Sri Lanka.
Can I schedule messages to be sent later?
Absolutely. Our user-friendly dashboard allows you to schedule "Quick Messages" or entire bulk campaigns for a specific date and time, ensuring your audience receives them at the most impactful moment.
Do you provide API access for developers?
Yes, we offer free API access. You can seamlessly integrate our SMS gateway into your own PHP applications, WooCommerce stores, WHMCS billing systems, or any custom website.

Pricing & Payments

How does the "Refundable Deposit" work for high-volume packages?
For our special discounted rates (P58 through P48), a small refundable deposit is required to activate the lower rate. This deposit remains in your account as a commitment to the volume-based agreement.
Do my SMS credits expire?
On the "Pay As You GO" plan, your credits have no expiry date. For "Special SMS Rate" packages, the duration is typically 30 days; however, you can contact support to discuss renewals or extensions based on your usage.
Which networks are supported?
Our gateway is fully compatible with all major Sri Lankan mobile networks, including Dialog, SLT-Mobitel, Airtel, and Hutch.

Usage & Management

Can I upload contacts from an Excel file?
Yes, our "Smart Campaigns" feature allows you to upload Excel sheets. You can also use dynamic parameters to personalize each message with the recipient's name or specific details (e.g., "Dear [Name], your balance is [Amount]").
Is there a limit to how many Sender IDs I can have?
No, you can manage multiple Sender IDs under a single account. This is ideal if you operate different brands or departments under one business entity.
What is the difference between Transactional and Promotional SMS?
Transactional: Used for critical alerts like OTPs, order confirmations, and payment notifications. These are usually sent instantly 24/7.

Promotional: Used for marketing, discounts, and announcements. These are best sent during daytime hours to maximize engagement.
